Darlington Partners, Ltd. places Chief Risk Officer at PMI Capital CorporationExecutive search firm Darlington Partners, Ltd. announces the placement of Patrick Mathis as Senior Vice President, Chief Risk Officer at PMI Capital Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of The PMI Group, Inc. (NYSE:PMI). Mathis will be responsible for credit and operational risk management of all operations and investments of PMI Capital Corporation, which manages PMI's international mortgage insurance and financial guaranty business segments. Prior to joining PMI, Mathis was with XL Capital Assurance, a New York based AAA-rated financial guaranty company, where since 1999 he served as Chief Credit Officer, Senior Managing Director. In that role, Mathis chaired their Credit Committee and directed the establishment of underwriting criteria for the wide range of asset classes for which XL Capital Assurance provides credit enhancement. Prior to that, Mathis spent ten years at MBIA, where he served as its Managing Director, Insured Portfolio Management, responsible for the review, surveillance and remediation activities of their insured portfolio of municipal, structured finance and international credits. Mathis holds a Masters in Business Administration, Finance from the University of Texas and a Bachelor of Arts, Political Science from the University of North Carolina.
